One of the major goals of this blog is not only to educate our peers on the impacts of Orientalism but to recognize its existence in different areas of pop culture and the media. Our previous entries have showcased an introduction to Orientalism, it is now time to focus our attention on the various ways Orientalism and female discourse exist within various power structures in society. The media and popular culture play such a large role on one's socialization and their future opinions on various topics. It is time to become more aware of the implications of certain ideas and images.
