EDWARD SAID (1935-2003)

Edward Said was an influential author and critic who is best known for coining the term Orientalism. His book titled “Orientalism” (1978) looked at false assumptions underlying Western attitudes towards the east. He argued about the traditional hyper sexualized images of Asia and the Middle East and frequently discussed the politics surrounding the topic.

His works have a great impact in the understanding of withstanding colonialist views. He has received recognition and acclaim for his ability to step outside the box while challenging everyday issues
